The name
Okaeri is what you say to someone coming home
In Japan, おかえり is what you say when you hear the front door go. It isn't quite a hello; it's closer to I'm glad you're back.
We took the name because that is what we wanted people to feel walking in, the first time as much as the tenth.
The kitchen
The broth takes ten hours
It goes on low in the morning and nobody touches it until it's ready. That's the base for the nine ramen on the menu, and for each one you pick the broth — low, medium or high — and whether you want it spicy.
Around that there are gyoza, bao, tempura, karaage and takoyaki to pick at, curry rice bowls and Japanese desserts.

It’s our favorite ramen restaurant in Europe, and without exaggeration, every pilgrimage to Santiago ends here—with a bowl of hot, delicious ramen. Last year we came with a group of friends; this year we returned with my husband. No matter who I’m with, it’s always a highlight of the trip. Their vegan ramen is incredibly flavorful, packed with fresh vegetables, and simply comforting after a long walk. The staff are always so kind and welcoming, and this time they even gave us stickers for our pilgrim credentials as a gift. Such a thoughtful touch that made the experience even more special. We’ll definitely be back on our next pilgrimage!
Im pretty picky with my ramen and this was honestly very good. The tonkotsu broth is made correctly and not too heavy, chashu is cooked crispy and properly also generously sized, ingredients are kikurage mushrooms green onions and bamboo and an egg. The bowl isnt overcrowded like some places because this place's broth and noodles are good enough without needing to hide behind too many toppings. Egg was cooked perfectly as well Service was impeccable and the server was super nice and recomended me a drink and was very kind about my poor spanish. I also had the teriyaki chicken skewers which were also great. 5/5 would recommend!!
We had a very good experience of having lunch in this amazing place. Very colourful decorative interior and cozy ambience welcome us first and then those tasty foods truly made our day. Love everything about the place actually. Services were excellent, specially it was really commendable for only two guys to manage full house costomers during pick Semana Santa Sunday. Even they made extra effort to get some currys when asked. Nothing much to add about the taste of those delicious foods. Really really loved it. Loved the little gesture of giving some nice anime stickers and toffee to take away home with the bill. Highly recommended and would love to come here again.
Ok listen up. We went to quite a few restaurants in Spain and this one has TOPPED OUR LIST. Do yourselves a favor and eat here. The vibes are immaculate (anime playing silently in the background, figurines, great lighting and atmosphere). The food is out of this world amazing I thought I was in heaven please take me seriously it was just that good. I ordered the vegan ramen and I can’t describe to you how good it was. The cocktails were great, the vegetarian gyoza was 10/10 we ended up ordering it twice. The service made us feel at home. And at the end they even passed out little stickers for us to choose from to remember the restaurant. No branding, no logo, nada. Just cute stickers. I’m not too sappy of a person but honestly this made my day. Little acts of kindness and care that we don’t see too much of in our day to day lives in today’s world. I’m at the point where I want to come here again before we leave Santiago just for breakfast. Ramen. For breakfast. That’s the emotional state that I’m in right now because of this food. Don’t leave Santiago without trying this place. And preferably on the first day so that you can come again later. I swear to god - just come here.
Very nice staff, the food was very good as well and as a little extra you get to choose a Little Sticker of an Anime Charakter after you are done eating. All in all a nice experience. Didn’t take a picture of the actual food because it looked to good to leave it standing.

From the street it's a stone building like the ones either side of it. Inside we fancied doing something else, so we did: lanterns, neon, bunting and walls covered in manga. Most people look up before they sit down.
The bar does cocktails, bubble tea and Japanese and Korean drinks, so you can come just for a drink. And the cabinet of figures is worth a proper look.
